M3-Series coaxial systems are designed for real-world maritime duty and are developed to produce outstanding sound in open-air boat situations at a lower cost.

The M3-650X 6.5-inch coaxial speaker is built around the conventional 6.5-inch marine speaker format, with a chassis that is a straight fit replacement for most 6.5-inch marine speakers. The long excursion woofer design and superior power handling guarantee that your music will play loud and clear at high or low volume levels. M3-650X woofers are optimized for infinite-baffle operation and do not need an enclosure behind them.

High-frequency tasks are handled by a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter that has been carefully prepared to resist the maritime environment. Silk was selected for its lightness, high damping capabilities, and smooth response characteristics. A permanent grille-mounted construction assures maximal tweeter performance with minimal compromise of woofer radiating area. A 2nd order high-pass filter on each tweeter is built into the woofer grille and needs no extra mounting provision. To reduce the likelihood of tweeter failure, the signal traveling to the tweeter is checked and instantly removed in the case of an overload.

Although M3-650X Coaxial Systems may be utilized with as low as 20 W per channel, amplifiers capable of 60-120 W of continuous power per channel are suggested for the greatest audio performance. JL Audio maritime speakers are saltwater-rated, with corrosion and UV-resistant materials used throughout to meet industry requirements.
