The Suzuki DF6A is the most powerful of Suzuki's 138 cc singles (DF4A, DF5A, DF6A) and weighs 55 lb short shaft or 57 lb long shaft. It is a popular choice for 10–12 ft aluminum boats, larger inflatables and tenders, and as a sailboat auxiliary, where its built-in 1.0 L tank keeps rigging simple.

Like the DF4A it is carbureted with manual start; Suzuki's schedule calls for engine oil (0.7 L SAE 10W-40) and gear oil at 20 hours then every 100 hours, oil filter 16510-16H11 at 20 hours then every 200, an NGK CPR6EA-9 plug, and a carburetor inspection at each service. Full-throttle range is 4,750–5,750 rpm.
