The water pump impeller is the rubber part that pulls cooling water through the outboard, and a worn one is the most common cause of overheating. Rubber hardens with age whether or not the engine runs, which is why Suzuki puts the impeller on a fixed schedule: inspect the water pump and impeller every 200 hours or 12 months, and replace the impeller every 300 hours or 36 months. Motors used in sand or silt should be checked sooner.

Boat Max Online stocks genuine Suzuki OEM water pump repair kits and individual impellers for the DF lineup. A complete kit includes the impeller, the wear plate or pump housing where Suzuki specifies it, and the gaskets and seals needed to reinstall the pump correctly.

Authorized Suzuki Marine dealer; every kit is genuine Suzuki to factory tolerances. Free shipping on orders over $149 to the lower 48 states.
