What Is This Kit?

This is the official Suzuki OEM remote control parts set (67130-89L40) that converts a tiller-steered DF9.9B, DF15A or DF20A outboard to remote control operation. It contains the engine-side linkage, brackets, wiring harness and mounting hardware needed for the conversion: 49 Suzuki part numbers, 76 pieces in total.

67130-89L40 replaces the earlier 67130-89L23 kit.

Converting from tiller to remote gives you throttle, shift and steering control from the helm, for center console, side console and dash-mount setups. This is the factory solution, not an aftermarket workaround.

What Is NOT Included

This kit does not include the remote control box, the throttle and shift cables, or the steering system (helm and steering cable). Those are sold separately.

Installation Overview

  1. Confirm your model code and serial number against the compatibility table above.
  2. Remove the tiller handle assembly following the Suzuki service manual procedure.
  3. Install the steering bracket attachment, throttle lever bracket and linkage from this kit.
  4. Route and connect the wiring harness to the engine's electrical system.
  5. Connect the throttle and shift cables (sold separately) to the throttle control lever and clutch lever.
  6. Mount the remote control box at the helm and connect the cables per the Suzuki installation guide.
  7. Test throttle, shift and neutral before running the boat.
