Fix chips and scratches on your white Yamaha outboard with the ColorRite #5549 touch up pen, the factory-matched pearl coat for Yamaha paint code CE / 00CE Pearlescent White.

Pearlescent White is a tri-coat finish: #1559 white base first, this #5549 pearl coat over it, then clearcoat. The pearl coat will not match without the #1559 base underneath.

Application Instructions

1. Test First

Test base, pearl and clear on a hidden area or test card to confirm the match.

2. Mask and Clean

Mask around the repair and clean it with wax and grease remover. Let it dry completely.

3. Sand and Prime

Sand with 600–1000 grit to remove gloss. Prime any bare metal or plastic.

4. Apply the #1559 Base

Apply light coats until the chip is a solid, even white. Let dry.

5. Apply the #5549 Pearl Coat
  • Apply light, even coats over the dry base
  • Let each coat dry; do not sand between coats
6. Apply Clearcoat

Finish with clearcoat to restore gloss and protect the repair. After 5 days of curing, polish with a fine cut compound.

Base coat, primer and clearcoat pens are sold separately.
