Suzuki DF9.9B: The Quietest 9.9 HP Kicker on the Market, Backed by Suzuki Warranty

The Suzuki DF9.9B is built on the same 327 cc, two-cylinder, fuel-injected powerhead as the DF15A and DF20A, which is why it is one of the strongest-pulling 9.9 HP motors you can buy and a favorite kicker on lakes with a 10 HP limit. Battery-less EFI with Lean Burn gives easy cold starts and low fuel use at trolling speed.

Suzuki lists the electric-start long shaft at 108 lb and the extra-long (25 in.) shaft at 120 lb. Service basics from the owner's manual: 1.0 L SAE 10W-40 (1.1 L with a new 16510-45H10 filter), NGK MR6K-9 plugs (2018 and newer; CPR6EA-9 on 2013–2017), gear oil at 20 hours then every 100 hours, water pump impeller inspected at 200 hours and replaced at 300 hours or 36 months, and a timing belt inspected every 200 hours and replaced every 4 years. Full-throttle range is 4,700–5,700 rpm. Electric-start models need a 12 V starting battery of at least 450 MCA / 330 CCA, supplied by the owner.
