How much oil does a Honda BF40 or BF50 take?

The Honda BF40 and BF50 have an engine oil capacity of approximately 1.9 quarts (1.8L). The BF60 takes approximately 2.5 quarts (2.4L). This kit includes 3 quarts, providing enough for the engine change plus the lower unit service.

Can I use this kit on a BF45 or BF55?

Yes. The BF45 and BF55 share the same engine architecture as the BF40 and BF50 respectively. The filter, drain washer, and gaskets in this kit are compatible.

How often should BF40/50/60 oil be changed?

Honda recommends every 100 hours or once per season. The first oil change should be done at 20 hours to flush break-in metal particles from the engine.

Do I need any special tools to use this kit?

You will need a 17 mm socket for the drain plug, an oil filter wrench, a lower unit gear oil pump or tube, and a drain pan. All consumable parts are included in the kit.
