Direct Intake And Engine Cover Ventilation

A smoother, cooler airflow to the direct intake system is made possible by a revised engine cover design, which increases engine running efficiency. Together with a newly built air cleaner, the engine produces more power from a smaller displacement. The rotating flywheel lowers engine cover temperatures by venting warm air from the recoil cover, inner air intake, and engine top cover.
First In Class With Roller Rocker Arms

These are the first outboards in their categories to use a roller with internal bearings on the cam slipper surface for both the intake and exhaust valves. The roller converts the contact between the camshaft and rocker arm from a sliding to a rolling movement, which reduces friction during rocker arm operation.
